The compassion shown not only to me, but to my wife as well, made a very challenging surgery and recovery go better than expected.
Dear Dr. Leone,
I’m writing to thank you for the wonderful surgery you did on my knee revision of 11/19/2014. As you know, I had been in horrible pain for a number of years; including, the most recent two years after having had my first replacement in November 2012 by another doctor. Although, I had been in terrible pain, with lots of ongoing swelling and fluid in the joint. I was very skeptical of doing the revision – even up to 3 weeks prior to your surgery.
The calm demeanor, reassurance and confidence, shown by you and your PA Susan as well, convinced me, along with my wife, that doing the revision now was the way to go.
I won’t deny the amount of pain I felt during the first 4 to 5 weeks – even wondering if I had made the right choice at the time. But now, almost 10 weeks out, and although after a long day at work I do have residual pain, I am better than I was after more than 2 years post surgery the first time!
The knee looks great, has healed wonderfully, and I am continuing with therapy three times a week as well as going to the gym. I even went back to work a full 8 days prior than expected. Which was two weeks earlier than the first surgery!
The compassion shown not only to me, but to my wife as well, from you and your entire staff has made a very challenging surgery and recovery go better than expected.
I know I still have recovery ahead of me, and expect that each week will get better and better.
I have recommended you to others who have asked about a surgeon who can be trusted to always look out for the best of their patients and do the best for them.
Thanks again,
Martin Gider
