Dear Dr. Leone,
It has been 15 months since you replaced the inboard (military) part of my knee and I want to let you know how everything has worked out. I chose a private room at Holy Cross Hospital because my wife wanted to stay with me. She slept overnight in an adjoining bed and we had meals together. That worked out great. The food was outstanding. I couldn’t have asked for a better nursing staff. Physical therapy was also superb and I started walking the very next day. I walked out of the hospital with a walker but didn’t really need it. I had regained my full range of motion within two weeks and walking a couple miles within three weeks. Eight months later I was elk hunting with a bow in Southwest Colorado climbing 2,000 foot elevations and descending with a 35 pound pack. No problem at all. The young guide said, “I never seen a dang flat lander (I’m from Minnesota) keep up with me.” My knee feels great and I don’t even think about it anymore.
