Happy re-birthday to me!

My, how time flies! 8/13/2012, 1 year since my total hip replacement. I could have written this sooner, but I’ve been out loving/living my life with my husband, kids and baby granddaughter, doing things that an arthritic, diseased hip wouldn’t let me do for years.

I have had a lot of time to think about this email and what I wanted to say.
Chances are, if you’re reading this, you are in the Doctor’s office and you are contemplating knee or hip replacement surgery. Maybe you, like me, are scared and uncertain. First, I want to say, breathe….you are in the right place, with the right doctor and the right staff.

Dr. Leone is a Godsend to his patients.

It has been a year and honestly, I don’t give my new hip a second thought. Dr. Leone and his staff explained everything to me and answered all my questions. I was blubbering like a baby but he took his time and when I left his office, after the first visit, it was such a relief to know that I was finally going to be pain free. He asked me to trust him, and I thank God I did.

I’m not gonna lie, the first three weeks post-op was hard work. I went to rehab and made it a personal goal to push myself and I’m proud to say, my physical therapists were amazed at my success. Now, lest you think I’m some young, fit, body builder type, I’m not! I’m 63, overweight, and a female that hates to exercise, (just keeping it real) but with the right team, and the right coach, miracles happen.

And I consider my new, pain free hip, a miracle.

You probably don’t remember me, and that’s OK, but I will never forget you.
I’m including my email address so anyone that wants to contact me for a reference can do so. I’ll even show you my scar………it’s a beauty.
That’s a joke, I really won’t, you knew that, right?

Thank you Dr. Leone and staff
